On June 2005, the Chaldean Federation of America (CFA) board voted and
passed a resolution to delay and suspend the then scheduled board
elections in favor of granting his Excellency Bishop Ibrahim Ibrahim a
special authority. This authority was limited to no longer than two years
to appoint a new chairman that would help and improve the federation in
its relations, activities and the running of its affairs and business.
Although said resolution violated the requirements set in the by-laws and
constitution of the federation, the executive board at the time did not
object, therefore, as a result Mr. Michael George was appointed as acting
chairman. At that time all bank accounts, business, and authority was
passed to Mr. George.
Currently, more than four years have elapsed without any reports from the
acting chairman, and that the intent and spirit of the resolution has
passed its specified time limit. Furthermore, the specified period (two
years) has been prolonged way-past its limit, thus triggering a need for
action to rectify this violation and request compliance to abide by the
specific time limitation of the resolution.
To ensure consistency with the spirit of democracy, equal opportunity to
all Chaldeans, ability to exercise their freedom of speech and their right
to vote, our executive board has determined that it is obligated to hold
elections according to the by-laws and constitution of the federation,
therefore, to reassume the affairs, duties and authority of the federation
so that election procedures supervised by this board can immediately be
placed back on the agenda. The board is required to see to it that the
elections be held as soon as possible.
We hereby ask the acting Chairman to protect the interests of the
federation. Above all, we ask he act in the best interest of all the
Chaldean people, and since his two year term has already expired, to plan
an orderly reassignment and return of the federation’s affairs and
business to our board. Thereafter, the powers and authority of the June
2005 executive board can automatically and quickly be reinstated without
any disruption of business, complication, conflict or delays.
Lastly, we further ask that Mr. George contact us as soon as possible so
that all existing functions, affairs, bank accounts, business and
authority of the federation be handed back to this board.

At an emergency meeting of the CFA’s 2005 executive board, discussing
reinstatement of the 2005 elections. Whereas on December 30, 2009 this
board requested the CFA’s Chairman to abide by the time limit of his
appointment stated in the resolution of the 2005 board, to reassign and
return of the federation’s affairs and business to this board to re-plan
for an election as originally planned in June 2005.In a response signed by
Chairman Dhafir Nona and Chairman, Emeritus Michael George on February 17,
2010 our request was denied.
Upon further discussion and whereas the existing acting board has failed
to act in good faith, and erroneously expanded its authority as well as
unconstitutionally amended the By-Laws while continues refusal to adhere
to spirits of democracy and abide by the CFA’s 2005 board’s well
intentions and clear resolution, having the audacity to deny the Chaldean
people’s right to freely and clearly vote-in their chosen representatives.
And whereas the existing none-permissive appointed board has failed to
fulfill its responsibility as stated in above 2005 original resolution; be
it:
RESOLVED
A- Existing board of directors is hereby Dissolved, and all board members
are hereby
relieved of their duties
B- Existing federation Chairman & president is hereby excused and relieved
of his duties.
C- Executive director and all employees are directed to contact and await
for instructions from the CFA 2005 board.
Above resolution is now in full force and effect immediately.
There being no further business meeting was adjourned.
