Easter Sunday 3/23/2008
Today we celebrate
the resurrection of the our Lord Jesus Christ, this is the reason why
Christianity is greater than everything else, because hope comes alive today
as our Lord arose from the dead over 2000 years ago and gave us assurance that
through the Holy Spirit and His word that we will also share this heavenly
eternal life.
St. Paul says in 1
Corinthians 15:4
That
Jesus was buried; that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the
scriptures that he appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve.
After that, he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. After that he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one born abnormally, he appeared to me. For I am the least of the apostles, not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been ineffective. Indeed, I have toiled harder than all of them; not I, however, but the grace of God (that is) with me. Therefore, whether it be I or they, so we preach and so you believed. But if Christ is preached as raised from the dead, how can some among you say there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then neither has Christ been raised. is our preaching; empty, too, your faith.â Then we are also false witnesses to God, because we testified against God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, neither has Christ been raised, and if Christ has not been raised, * your faith is vain; you are still in your sins. Then those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are the most pitiable people of all.
We have an eye
witness account that Jesus was and still is alive, even the Koran claims that
Jesus is alive, than why would I believe anyone else, if He is not risen than
we are real sick people to live and die for a lie that did not happen, but the
fire of the Holy Spirit who is in us bears witness that Jesus is alive.
The first thing
that our Lord says to His Apostles peace be with you, Shlama in Aramaic, we
treasure the peace of God in our hearts against all odds, even when our people
are persecuted, we celebrate this peace today and know that we have a message
to the world that Jesus is alive and death and sin have been destroyed by God
for us through His Son Jesus Christ.
Last words of our
Lord and savior were in Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus
approached and said to them, "All power in heaven and on earth has been given
on to me, Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."
Let us go Joyfully
and crush Satan under our feet.
